Activism is medicine

Many thanks to Frank Forencich for joining me on "The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner." He is the author of "Activism is Medicine," "The Exuberant Animal Experience" and other books.

Frank suffered a multitude of childhood illnesses and immune disorders, which subsided after he discovered sports in high school. Witnessing the positive changes to his health, he became passionate about fitness, "the body, movement, and exercise." He devoted significant energy to martial arts, obtaining Black Belts in Aikido and Karate. Frank espouses the importance of "spirit" and "journey" as well as "destination" when tackling large-scale problems like climate change and threats to biodiversity.
