Interview with a Locum Tenens agent-Part II

Writer's picture: anwilneranwilner

Welcome to the second video of "The Art of Medicine."

First, many thanks to Chad Saley of CHG for helping set up this interview with Nichole Paskett, a senior staffing agent at CompHealth. Nichole was my first locum tenens staffing agent, and our relationship goes back many years. This video is a continuation of Nichole's interview that launched "The Art of Medicine" series a couple of weeks ago.

Part I was incredibly well-received. It set a record for the most views in the first 24 hours and even spurred new followers to "The Art of Medicine" channel! I can't wait to see the response to Part II!

In this continuation of our interview, Nichole reveals how to get a good locum tenens assignment, highlights the importance of being responsive, comments on the opportunities in the growing locum tenens marketplace, and includes insight and tips to help locum tenens physicians succeed in their careers. She also addresses the number of medical licenses needed, provides information about malpractice insurance, and advises on the practice of working with competing agencies.

For physicians interested in trying locum tenens, this 20-minute interview should answer many questions and help get you started. For a comprehensive overview of locum tenens, please check out my book, "The Locum Life: A Physician's Guide to Locum Tenens."

Your feedback is always welcome. Please comment on this blog or after you watch the video!
