Writer's picture: anwilneranwilner

Many thanks to Chad Saley of CompHealth for asking me to contribute this piece on locum tenens and self-employment. For this article, I examined the pros and cons of self-employment for physicians. Self-employment offers the opportunity to be your own boss, make your own schedule, and increase tax-deductible retirement savings. Of course, there are downsides as well, including last-minute cancellations, lack of health insurance, and unpaid travel time. Whether locums is the best path depends on each physician's personal and professional goals.

Many more resources about locum tenens are archived on my website: www.andrewwilner.com. Click the tabs for "articles" or "videos."

Please contact me with any questions about locums, and I'll do my best to guide you in the right direction.
